Day 9 – The Iowa Caucus January 4, 2012

OH MY GOODNESS. Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney had a 5 vote divide at one point. Five votes! Right now as I write it is a 34 vote lead for Santorum but there is still 1% to be counted. I don’t understand getting all excited over sports but this stuff is a thrill ride. Let me tell you I am not a Romney fan but if he wins tonight he will be pretty unstoppable. This, ladies and gentleman is why we vote.

Today was a day of phone calls and house work and my outfit shows it. I love this shirt though, it’s the classic Devo shirt but with a Chimp and it says Devolve. When my sister was taking the picture my 86lb American Bulldog walked up to see what I was doing and she was giving me the cutest look.

Day 8 – A Barefoot day, Straight Hair, and the Iowa Caucus January 2, 2012

I missed yesterday!!! Such a shame I fell off the horse. We’ll call it a holiday and move on. Today was a very slow day, ending with me playing with a hair straightener and listening to news on the Iowa Caucus. I don’t know what’s going to come out of tomorrow, but I’m thinking Romney is going to get the nomination. Who wins the election in November I cannot guess. The best thing that can been done for the future of our country is to start with a positive attitude and think with progressive mind. I could go on but I feel like that would up my blood pressure which is ill advised before bed.

In the photo my shoes custom, my pants I got at goodwill for a Freddie Mercury costume, Old Navy shirt, Target sweater, and with straight hair. This is history guys, I have never been able to straighten my hair.

I will have more to say on the Iowa Caucus, just you guys wait!

My Two Month Project December 26, 2011

I, like many women across these United States, have too many clothes. I am not going to pretend I wear everything I own, or that I am going to. So what that means is that I have some serious closet culling to do. Now, like many young women I am going to completely over complicate the process for the sake of my own amusement, and to avoid a moment in my closet wear I exclaim “if I just make them shorter!” while clutching a pair of jeans in my cold irrational hands.

So I am going to clean out my closet but I am going to wait until February 26th. Until February 26th I am going to take a picture of what I am wearing that day and post it on here for all of the world to enjoy. Every piece of day-to-day winter clothing that I do not wear by  February 26th will be taken to Goodwill.

My obvious goal for my two month closet cleaning project is to clean out my closet, but to also get me posting everyday on a schedule. My hope is to deliver a cheesy picture of me from that day with some cool commentary on something that sounds witty and smart like economics or politics.

I’m not trying to do the fashion blog thing so my outfits may not be aesthetically appealing all the time, but for performance sake I’m going to try and bust out some cute stuff. Here I go!

Day 1 – December 26, 2011 Happy Birthday Mom!

A New Adminstration, A New Begining January 25, 2009

May I have the balls to say, I was not a huge fan of Barack Obama, but thus far, I am impressed.  I am impressed that he is closing Gitmo, and that he has set the timetable for pulling troops out of Iraq.  Really, I am impressed that he has held up his end of the bargain, that he has, thus far, done what he said he was going to do.
I have been frustrated with people, talking about him like he is the second coming.  Like if he is elected, then all will be right with the world. Man, how good would it feel if that was true, but it’s not, and it never will be. President Barack Obama is just a man, a politician. We can not as American people, relax, and put all of our trust in him, turning our back on the economic crisis at hand. He is just a man, and just the president, he can not fix everything.

Please, understand that I love my country, and that I know that you do, too.  But when you love something, you have to fight for it, you have to fix it, because you can never replace something that you love.  More importantly, you can never replace your home.  Not the house you live in, or even the place you where you were born, but where you grew up;  where you learned to share your toys, where the culture is that raised you.   I love my country, and so you do you, so please, do what you can to help make it a better place.

So in conclusion, I have work for you to do.  It is incredibly important, but incredibly easy.  What I want all of you to do is this; hold the door open for people.  Then once you have mastered this, say please and thank you.   That’s it.  The people will appreciate it, and be able to get through their day a little easier.  They will likely do the same, for someone else, further spreading the love…further making American a happier place.

Thank you so much for reading this.  And thank you, President Barack Obama for doing what you have done.
