May I have the balls to say, I was not a huge fan of Barack Obama, but thus far, I am impressed. I am impressed that he is closing Gitmo, and that he has set the timetable for pulling troops out of Iraq. Really, I am impressed that he has held up his end of the bargain, that he has, thus far, done what he said he was going to do.
I have been frustrated with people, talking about him like he is the second coming. Like if he is elected, then all will be right with the world. Man, how good would it feel if that was true, but it’s not, and it never will be. President Barack Obama is just a man, a politician. We can not as American people, relax, and put all of our trust in him, turning our back on the economic crisis at hand. He is just a man, and just the president, he can not fix everything.
Please, understand that I love my country, and that I know that you do, too. But when you love something, you have to fight for it, you have to fix it, because you can never replace something that you love. More importantly, you can never replace your home. Not the house you live in, or even the place you where you were born, but where you grew up; where you learned to share your toys, where the culture is that raised you. I love my country, and so you do you, so please, do what you can to help make it a better place.
So in conclusion, I have work for you to do. It is incredibly important, but incredibly easy. What I want all of you to do is this; hold the door open for people. Then once you have mastered this, say please and thank you. That’s it. The people will appreciate it, and be able to get through their day a little easier. They will likely do the same, for someone else, further spreading the love…further making American a happier place.
Thank you so much for reading this. And thank you, President Barack Obama for doing what you have done.
