Day 6 – Happy New Year! December 31, 2011

Last year my resolution was to blog more, do more interviews, and to be happier. I did exactly 0 interviews but I have been blogging more and I am in a very happy place in my life. This year my resolution is the same but I will include relax more, make more lists, be a little less shy with new people, and to keep a clean room. I am looking forward to a new school, new friends, new adventures, and an election. If 2012 doesn’t end the world then things should go pretty well! To all who are reading this congratulations on making it another year and good luck with the next one!

Tonight I’m going to a party and spending the night with my lady friends so I got all dolled up.

The shoes are Candies from Khols, Target tights borrowed from my sister, and a thrifted dress. My hair is pleasantly wet so it should be doubling in size in the next couple of hours!

A Caitlin Carroll Interview with Eamon Carroll April 7, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — grandgreen @ 7:20 pm

I’m trying something new.  I am going to start doing interviews with people.  People like my friends and family, and business owners and politicians.  I am under the impression that everyone has a story.  Everyone has a place they came from and an opinion.  So, I am going to find that story.

I am going to do these interviews once a week.  I have the next two lined up, but if you have an idea  for someone I can talk to, like a business owner or someone who has witnessed something, or something then do tell!

This week I have interviewed a film maker, who happens to be my brother, Eamon Carroll.  Enjoy!

My College Plans Are This – Live From UNCG March 31, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — grandgreen @ 7:26 pm

I am currently at UNCG, sitting outside in amazing weather.  It’s making me think about college.  I’m so exited!  Though my plans have really changed.  The plan was, and had been since August that I would be going to Le Cordon Bleu Scottsdale Culinary Institute in the Fall.  But, a list of things that would get in the way have shown themselves.  One being that I really don‘t think I’ll be ready to be living that far from my family at that point in time.  It’s scary!  Sure, people my age do it all the time, but that I doesn’t me it’s a good idea, and it definitely doesn’t mean it’s a good idea for me.
So, what I am going to do is go to community college for about a year.  And after that, I can go to culinary school.  I have yet to decide which community collage I want to go to, but it will ether be GTCC or Forsyth Tech.  At one of these schools I will be taking general college classes.  Culinary school will not require general college, but business school will.  After culinary school I will very likely be going to one college or another to get a business degree.  With that, I can eventually start my own business.

This is all very open to change, considering my plans, just since August, have changed many time.  All with very good reason.
I am so ready for this.

Driving – An Update February 3, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — grandgreen @ 7:45 pm

I totally just drove, and totally didn’t kill anything.  Life is good.  I did toally hear from my teacher “you got pretty close to that mail box” and totally thought “what mailbox?”.  But other then that, and some other stuff, I did pretty well.

I am about to start driving, literally, my instructor will be here in about 30 minutes. I am nervous, but that’s okay. It will all be just fine. Fine. Fine.
I learned something yesterday, that made me feel a little better in an odd sort of way. Kate Nash, an awesome musician, is, I’m pretty sure 20 years old. And she failed her driving test because she can’t turn around a corner. So that fact that I’m 17, and still can’t drive, seems like much less of a big deal.
Guys, wish me luck.

Happy New Year! So, what happens next? January 2, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — grandgreen @ 11:06 pm

The coming year will be a year like no other. This year will be the scariest, and most epic year, thus far, in my life. The main things I have to do this year are:
1. Make sure that I am fully and legally graduated (how that has gone, I will explain later)
2. Get a job
3. Buy a car
4. Start College

and last, and most important thing *Inhale*

5. NOT FLUNK OUT!!!!

I am, I’m sure like so many people my age, scared that I am going to fail at college. Fail at being on my own. Fail at my job, and my dreams. I am scared that I will fail in general.
But I have to remind myself that fear is a natural feeling, and should be treated as such. When you have an itch, you scratch it.  When you miss your friends, you go and see them.  And if your hand hurts, and you check it, and you cut your hand open, what do you do? You take care of it and make the pain go away!  So what am I going to do?  I am going to brush up on my math, learn to better handle my time, and what ever else I can do to make me a better student in patisserie and baking!

*Exhale*

But, let me empathize something: I am a very lucky person.  I have a warm bed at night, and food in my belly.  My parents are wonderful supportive people, and I think the only murder in my neighbourhood is a murder of Crows.

So for Christmas I got a T-board. I love it! I have been having a really easy time learning how to use it, too. But one of the unfortunate parts of learning anything physical, is that you can, and will, fall.  As you would expect, I fell, and twisted my ankle, making me couch bound for the afternoon. Hence, a blog was born! Fortunately, I was adorned in wrist guards, knee pads, and a bright pink skating boarding helmet. If I was not wearing any of these things, I would be off my precious board far far longer. The board, by the way, is a boy, named Pink. Pink like the color, or Pink Floyd, I’m not picky. Both are great, and necessary in life.

This about wraps up my first post! Thank you, and good night!
